Employment Policy Pay Scale Equity

Sunway University has established a Policy on Salary and Pay Equity (2004, reviewed 2023), demonstrating its institutional commitment to fair, transparent, and non-discriminatory employment practices. The University is dedicated to ensuring equity in staff remuneration through the measurement and elimination of gender pay gaps, and by upholding principles of fairness and inclusivity across all employment levels.

In accordance with this policy:

Clause 2.2: “Staff members will be paid based on merits of their qualification, experience and performance, regardless of gender, disability, race, religion, belief, cultural background, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, refugee and asylum seeker status, language, pregnancy and maternity/paternity.”

Policy Statement: “The University shall periodically review the pay equity to ensure that there is no disparity among different genders, disability, race, religion, belief, and other factors as outlined in Clause 2.2.”

These provisions affirm that staff are compensated and rewarded based solely on merit, with the University maintaining a structured and transparent salary framework that applies uniformly to all staff members. The salary structure is designed to be free from any form of discrimination or inequality arising from gender, ethnicity, or other protected characteristics.
