Biography
Professor Dr Noor Zaman Jhanjhi is an internationally recognized academic, distinguished researcher, and visionary leader in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Digital Innovation. He serves as a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science (AI & Cybersecurity) at the School of Engineering and Technology (FET), Sunway University, Malaysia, and he has held prominent leadership roles as the Director of the Centre for Intelligent Innovation (CII), Director of the Centre for Smart Society 5, and Program Director for Postgraduate Research Degree Programmes, etc. contributing significantly to research excellence and academic advancement.
Globally acknowledged for his scholarly impact, Professor Jhanjhi has been consistently ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists for four consecutive years (2022–2025). He is also recognized as one of Malaysia’s leading computer science researchers and was ranked among the top 0.05% of scholars worldwide in the 2025 ScholarGPS rankings. He has H-indices of 107 and 82 in GS and Scopus, respectively.
His outstanding contributions have earned him several prestigious recognitions, including the Outstanding Faculty Member Award by MDEC Malaysia (2022) and the Vice Chancellor’s Best Research Citations Award from Taylor’s University (2023). A prolific author and editor, he has published and edited more than 100 books with leading international publishers, including Springer, Elsevier, IET, Wiley, IGI Global, Bentham Sciences, CRC Taylor’s, and Frances.
Professor Jhanjhi has successfully supervised 45 postgraduate graduates and examined more than 90 doctoral and master’s theses worldwide. He served as an Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, and Editorial Board Member for several prestigious journals, including PeerJ Computer Science, IEEE Access, and Computers, Materials & Continua (CMC), etc.
In addition, he has secured over 45 international research grants, delivered more than 100 keynote and invited talks globally, and actively contributed to international accreditation and quality assurance bodies, including ABET, NCAAA, and NCEAC.
Through his exceptional research achievements, academic leadership, and commitment to mentorship, Professor Dr Noor Zaman Jhanjhi continues to make significant contributions to the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and global higher education.
