The Track to Tomorrow: Redefining Malaysia's Global Supply Chain & Sustainable Growth

The Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development hosted the think tank session “The Track to Tomorrow: Redefining Malaysia’s Global Supply Chain & Sustainable Growth” on 13 March 2026, welcoming over 200 participants from academia, industry, and partner organisations.

A key highlight of the session was Mr Zaidi’s address, detailing how the ECRL will reshape Malaysia’s logistics and connectivity by reducing transit time between Port Klang and Kuantan Port, improving freight reliability, and strengthening Malaysia’s position as a regional logistics hub within ASEAN.

The discussion also emphasised sustainability, highlighting the ECRL’s role in lowering carbon emissions, easing highway congestion, and supporting ESG principles.
