Representing Sunway Business School at Korea University's Climate Corps Summer School 2026
Three Sunway Business School students had the remarkable opportunity to represent Sunway University at the Climate Corps Summer School 2026, hosted by Korea University, South Korea. Joining 148 participants from 49 universities across approximately 25 countries, the students experienced an inspiring week of international collaboration, interdisciplinary learning, and innovation focused on addressing global climate challenges.
Throughout the five-day programme, the students worked in multidisciplinary teams with peers from around the world to develop practical and innovative solutions for sustainability. The programme encouraged participants to exchange diverse perspectives, strengthen cross-cultural communication, and apply their academic knowledge to real-world environmental issues through its three core pillars: Innovation Research, Inclusive Education, and Real-world Outreach.
For the students, the experience extended far beyond the classroom. Collaborating with individuals from different cultural and academic backgrounds enhanced their teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while broadening their global outlook on sustainability and international cooperation.
The programme concluded with the Final Pitch Competition, where 20 teams presented their innovative climate solutions. Sunway Business School students achieved outstanding success, with members of both the First Prize-winning Team and one of the Third Prize-winning Teams, demonstrating their ability to excel in an international and highly competitive environment.

Congratulations to Zheng Yi Wen and Tam Hui Xian on their well-deserved competition awards. Recognition is also extended to Aishath Shaiha Rasheed for her active participation and valuable contributions throughout the programme. Together, the three students represented Sunway University with professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
Reflecting on their experience, the students gained valuable insights into global sustainability challenges while developing meaningful international friendships and professional networks. The programme strengthened their confidence in working across cultures and reinforced the importance of collaboration, innovation, and leadership in creating sustainable solutions for the future.
The students were accompanied by Dr Arumugam Muthusamy, Sunway Business School, who participated in the programme as an invited mentor, providing guidance and support throughout the international engagement.
