A Journey Towards Healthier Ageing: Celebrating Six Months of Qigong, Community & Healthy Ageing

The Ageing, Health and Well-Being Research Centre (CARE), Sunway University (CARE) at the Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences, Sunway University, is proud to announce the successful completion of another 6-month intervention under the LRGS MyAgeWELL Project.

Following a previous resistance training programme, this phase centred on Qigong, a gentle mind-body practice known to enhance physical function, balance, and overall well-being among older adults. Over six months, participants demonstrated remarkable commitment and enthusiasm, embodying the spirit of active ageing through consistent and dedicated practice.

To celebrate this milestone, the team and participants came together for a heartfelt potluck session, a moment to honour not just the end of the programme, but also the friendships forged, the resilience shown, and the shared journey toward healthier ageing.

This initiative reflects the CARE Centre's ongoing commitment to advancing research-driven, community-based interventions that support healthy ageing, improved quality of life, and holistic well-being.

Heartfelt appreciation goes out to all participants for their dedication, to Qigong Master Mr Richard Tan, Ms Ang, and Mr Teoh for their invaluable guidance throughout the sessions, and to the entire research team for making this programme a resounding success.
