Congratulations to Isabelle Yau Li Shuang - Esri Malaysia Young Scholars Award 2026 Grand Prize Winner

Congratulations to Isabelle Yau Li Shuang, our final-year Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) (Data Analytics) student, on being selected as the Esri Malaysia Young Scholars Award (EYSA) 2026 Grand Prize Winner. As part of this prestigious recognition, she will receive an all-expenses-paid trip with full access to the Esri User Conference and the Esri Education Summit in San Diego, California, in July 2026, along with other prizes.

Her project, “Geospatial Analysis of Healthcare Accessibility in Sabah, Malaysia,” demonstrates strong analytical and technical capabilities. In this study, she collected, processed, and analysed multiple datasets related to healthcare facilities in Sabah and Malaysia. She conducted comprehensive geospatial analyses, including isochrone modelling, the E2SFCA accessibility model, and terrain-adjusted modelling, to identify underserved areas and districts with the lowest healthcare accessibility in the state.

This achievement is a testament to her innovation, dedication, and commitment to producing high-quality work, as well as the invaluable guidance and support provided by her supervisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selina Low Yeh Ching from the School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence (SCAI).
