Celebrating the Graduation of Our Explorer Rangers

The Explorer Rangers Programme recently celebrated a meaningful milestone as its young participants officially graduated after completing 52 weekend learning sessions through this collaboration with Sunway Theme Parks.

Children from Desa Mentari were given the opportunity to experience immersive, hands-on learning focused on animals, wildlife, conservation, sustainability, and environmental awareness. The programme also aimed to nurture confidence, curiosity, teamwork, empathy, and meaningful social connections among participants.

Grounded in Social Emotional & Experiential Learning (SEL), the sessions provided a safe and engaging space for children to build friendships, develop life skills, and deepen their understanding of sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Reflecting on the programme, one graduate shared:

“Every session felt like a new adventure where we learned together while having fun.”

The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of a meaningful year-long journey of learning, growth, and shared experiences for the young Rangers.

The Sunway Desa Mentari Community Development Programme (SDMCDP) played a collaborative role in the initiative by supporting participant coordination, monitoring progress, and facilitating communication with the Desa Mentari community.
