Adjunct Honorary Distinguished Professor David Andrew Bradley Invited to Speak at the University of Oxford
Adjunct Professor David Andrew Bradley from the Applied Physics and Radiation Technologies Group, CCDCU, delivered an invited talk at the University of Oxford at the one-day conference, “Heritage Physics: Illuminating the Past,” organised by the Centre for the History and Philosophy of Physics (HAPP), University of Oxford, on 21st February 2026.
Professor Bradley spoke on “Radiation for the Analysis and Preservation of Cultural Heritage Objects.” The event was strongly attended, with a packed auditorium and several hundred online attendees. St Cross College has placed the event online. The online stream has been viewed more than 1000 times to-date.
Professor Kevin Walsh (the Afternoon Chair of the HAPP one-day conference) noted Prof. Bradley’s contribution for its practical applicability. He specifically highlighted how his talk, “Radiation for the Analysis and Preservation of Cultural Heritage Objects,” bridged the gap between theoretical physics and the tangible conservation of historical artifacts.
