Welcoming New Beginnings with April Orientation and Freshman Fiesta
The Sunway University Student Council is delighted to welcome all new and returning students back to campus!
On the 24th and 25th of April 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting the Orientation Programme for our April intake. It was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic new faces joining our Sunway community. Throughout the two days, students had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with campus life, meet their peers, and learn more about the exciting journey ahead.
We were honoured to have Professor Abhi Veerakumarasivam, who shared inspiring words of encouragement with our new students. A huge thank you as well to our Orientation Emcee, Johnathan Pun Yung Jian, for keeping the energy high, and to our SUSC 101 presenters, Dashvin Kumar and Jelivan Shastry Varma, who did an excellent job in introducing the Student Council and the role we play in championing student welfare and advocacy.
To cap off Orientation, we hosted our retro-themed Freshman Fiesta: Blast to the Past on the evening of the 25th of April. It was a night filled with laughter, vibrant games, and wonderful new friendships. A special shout-out to our planning leads, Dev Dhanesh Hari Krishnan and Pang Exian, along with the rest of the academic affairs department, whose hard work brought the event to life and made it an unforgettable experience for our new students.
A heartfelt thank you to every council member, volunteer, and organiser who contributed to making these events such a success. Your dedication and passion continue to shape the vibrant student life here at Sunway University.
As the new semester begins, we warmly welcome not only our new intake but also our existing students especially those returning from internships back to campus life.
We are excited to see all of you continue your journey, bringing with you new experiences and fresh perspectives. Here’s to a brilliant semester filled with learning, growth, and unforgettable moments.
