Sunway Researcher Joins Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP)

Swee Qian Ya is currently participating in the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), an enriching and transformative initiative aimed at advancing expertise in applying artificial intelligence (AI) to drug discovery. The programme provides specialised training in AI inhibitor screening to identify potential therapeutic compounds, AI-driven drug design for predicting molecular interactions, and related applications in biomedical innovation.

From July to November, during her internship at Enlightenment Biotech, Swee Qian Ya is applying her theoretical knowledge to industry-driven projects, focusing on optimising AI-based drug screening. Under the mentorship of experienced professionals, she is gaining valuable insights into both the challenges and breakthroughs involved in integrating AI into biomedical research.

Upon completion of the programme, she intends to leverage the knowledge and skills acquired to contribute to cancer drug research at Sunway University. By integrating AI applications into ongoing and future projects, her goal is to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and impact of research efforts, thereby bridging the gap between emerging AI technologies and therapeutic advancements.
