Strengthening Communities Through Private-Public Partnerships

Sunway University recently engaged in a meaningful dialogue with three key agencies:

  • Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) Negeri Selangor

  • Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) Selangor

  • Perumahan dan Hartanah Selangor (PHSSB)

The discussion focused on collaborative efforts to empower the Desa Mentari community as part of the Sunway Desa Mentari Community Development Programme (SDMCDP). This partnership highlights the role of Private-Public Partnerships (PPPs) in promoting social equity, poverty alleviation, and sustainable community development.

Key Partnership Initiatives:

  • Collaborating with JKM to enhance welfare support and improve livelihoods for underserved groups.

  • Working with JPN to resolve documentation challenges, ensuring access to rights and opportunities for all residents.

  • Partnering with PHSSB to explore sustainable housing solutions and improve living conditions.

Through these partnerships, the SDMCDP team aims to create lasting impact by combining government expertise, academic innovation, and community involvement.
