Psychology Student Aleya Azzahra Omar Selected for Prestigious Global UGRAD Program

The Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences proudly congratulates Aleya Azzahra Omar, an undergraduate Psychology student, on her selection for the esteemed Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Aleya will be spending a semester at Xavier University of Louisiana, USA, where she will take part in academic courses, cultural exchange, and leadership development activities. Funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by World Learning, Global UGRAD is a highly competitive programme, with fewer than six students chosen from Malaysia each year.

In a message to Associate Professor Dr Pei Jun Woo, Aleya shared her appreciation:

“I’m really excited to share that I’ve been accepted into the program! I’ll be spending a semester in the U.S., and I truly believe the support I received made a big difference in helping me secure this opportunity.”

Aleya’s achievement is a testament to her academic excellence, leadership potential, and global perspective. It also highlights the strength of Sunway University’s Psychology programme in preparing students to become impactful, internationally minded changemakers.
