Promoting Community Health & Environmental Sustainability
A meaningful site visit was conducted today at Desa Mentari as part of the ongoing Sunway University Desa Mentari Research Project, which focuses on enhancing water quality for underserved communities.
The project aims to assess water quality and examine its direct impact on community health, while simultaneously fostering awareness and encouraging sustainable practices for long-term solutions.
This initiative supports several key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 3 – Good Health & Well-being
SDG 6 – Clean Water & Sanitation
SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities
SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
It also reflects Sunway University’s strong commitment to the Planetary Health movement, highlighting the vital connection between human well-being and environmental health. Through community engagement, evidence-based research, and cross-sector collaboration, the project aims to drive meaningful impact, enhancing both quality of life and ecosystem resilience.
This effort represents a collective step towards a healthier, more sustainable world, one community at a time.
