HUMAC’s UG Project Student Received COPYRIGHT for Haptic Enabled Virtual Reality Enhances Medical Training for Surgery Procedure

Addressing the high cost, limited accessibility, and insufficient tactile feedback of current medical procedure training, Lim Zheng Jie, under the guidance of Prof. Yap Kian Meng, has developed an innovative solution by integrating haptic feedback into VR medical training simulations using affordable, commercially available VR and haptic devices.  This work has garnered recognition and support from surgeons at Sunway Medical Centre. While still under development, the team is focused on further enhancing the simulation accuracy with the goal of cultivating more competent and confident surgeons, thereby improving patient survivability and overall care. The work has filled a copyright successfully – CRLY2025W00706.
