Sunway Business School extends our heartfelt appreciation to Winnie Pang, Head of Performance at Omnicom Media Group Malaysia, for sharing her expertise with our undergraduate students in a session titled “How Social Media Algorithms Shape Consumer Decisions.” on 27 October 2025.

Winnie provided a compelling look into how marketers leverage algorithmic targeting across platforms such as Google Ads, TikTok, and Meta, explaining how social, engagement, and behavioural signals influence what consumers see online.

She also demonstrated how these signals are processed and transformed into action through real-time analytics, algorithmic decision-making, content ranking, ad targeting, and feed personalization.

Her session offered students an eye-opening, behind-the-scenes perspective on how data and algorithms intersect with consumer psychology, effectively bridging classroom theory with real-world marketing practice.
