Sunway Business School was pleased to host an insightful session with Ram Subramanian, External Reporting Lead at CPA Australia, on the future of corporate reporting on 27 May 2025.

The session provided participants with valuable updates on international standards, including the introduction of IFRS 18, which focuses on enhanced presentation and disclosure in financial statements, as well as a reaffirmation of IFRS 16’s continued relevance.

More importantly, the conversation turned towards the evolving landscape of sustainability reporting. As Ram highlighted, corporate reporting today is not just about numbers; it’s a reflection of values, purpose, and long-term impact.

With growing emphasis on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations, reporting is transforming into a more holistic narrative on transparency, integrity, and strategy.

At Sunway Business School, we believe in equipping our students with forward-thinking knowledge — and this session was a powerful step in that direction.

A special thanks to the CPA Australia Student Ambassadors for initiating and organizing this impactful event. Well done to Parvitha R. and the volunteer team, and congratulations to Jia Xin Yew for a confident debut as emcee.
