Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Game Art Design

Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Game Art Design (BGAD) is a future-focused creative multimedia programme that prepares aspiring game artists to create the visual experiences behind tomorrow's games. Students develop the artistic and technical expertise to design compelling characters, environments, animations, and digital assets while understanding how every artistic decision contributes to gameplay, storytelling, and player engagement.

Learning takes place through immersive studio projects that mirror professional game development. From early concept exploration and visual development to game engine integration and playable prototypes, students experience the collaborative workflows used by modern game studios. Along the way, they build a portfolio that demonstrates both artistic quality and practical production experience.

Beyond game art, the curriculum introduces students to game design, interactive storytelling, and entrepreneurship, giving them a broader understanding of how successful games are conceived, developed, and brought to market. This interdisciplinary perspective enables graduates to communicate effectively with designers, programmers and producers while recognising opportunities to develop their own intellectual property and creative ventures.

Graduates will emerge from this programme as skilled game artists, confident collaborators and creative problem solvers who are ready to contribute and grow into future leaders of the industry. Equipped with artistic vision, technical capability, and an entrepreneurial mindset, they are prepared to shape the next generation of interactive entertainment.
