Political turmoil. Disaster. War. These are the headlines we read each day. What we don’t see are the people forced to leave everything behind — some journey with children; others walk alone.

Once displaced, refugees face uncertain futures. Their access to safety, healthcare, and education depends on how—and where—they arrive. Children, especially, must find a way to navigate and make sense of a world suddenly turned upside down.

If you want to learn more about what it means to rebuild, adapt, and cope as a refugee, join Layla Rashid’s two-series seminar. Layla is a DPhil Candidate from the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, UK. She is in Sunway University as a Visiting Scholar from 17 November to 30 November 2025.
