  • Date: Thursday, 14 May 2026
  • Time: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
  • Venue: Recital Hall, Level 4, Sunway University

This lecture will examine the evolving landscape of international higher education and how Asian education hubs—including Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia—are repositioning themselves in the global competition for talent, research excellence, and innovation.

Key themes include:

  1. Strategies to attract and retain international academic talent through scholarships, funding, and policy frameworks
  2. The role of doctoral mobility in strengthening research ecosystems and future academic leadership
  3. The impact of geopolitics, visa policies, cost of living, and global trends on study and career decisions
  4. Asia’s growing role in shaping globally competitive higher education systems

Drawing on comparative research across Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, the session will offer evidence-based insights relevant to higher education policy, institutional strategy, and international collaboration.
