Launch of "Less Salt, Oil, Sugar (SOS)" Campaign by the Malaysian Society for World Action on Salt, Sugar and Health (MyWASSH) at Sunway University, Malaysia
Overview:
On 28 August 2024, the “Less Salt, Oil, Sugar (SOS)” campaign was officially launched on campus as part of the university's “Campus with a Conscience” initiative. The event took place in front of the popular “I Love SU” landmark.
This campaign is a collaborative effort to promote healthier eating habits by encouraging the use of reduced salt, oil, and sugar in food preparation across campus food vendors.
The main objective of the campaign is to raise awareness among students and staff about the importance of making healthier dietary choices. It highlights the commitment of campus vendors to adopt healthier cooking methods for the benefit of the university community.
The campaign is spearheaded by the university’s health and wellness committee under the “Campus with a Conscience” banner, in partnership with MyWASSH (Malaysian Society for World Action on Salt, Sugar, and Health), and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
